Alara had been off duty for the day, she’d given her last assignment away to Natalie and so, she had spare time to simply hang out and do whatever came to mind. At the moment she found her leather-clad feet softly padding down the streets of Celesta. She wore what would be considered Hunter’s garb, consisting completely of brown leather, soft to allow for good movement. Her dark locks were tied in a ponytail that swung from side to side as she moved along. Her usual weapons were adorning her body along with, of course that Katana that never left her side, and, as she had learned never to leave home with out it, her belt full of poisons and other delightful means to kill humans.
She had made her way down the street and was now approaching the stretch that would take her past the Thieves guild when something caught her quick eye. Her feet came to a sudden halt as she peered at what she saw going on, and she cursed lightly under her breath. Damn it She silently hissed as she watched Six, seven, eight… She counted them in her head and then growled under her breath.
She could have just simply kept walking by, left the kid to deal with them on his own, though it looked more as though he was trying to escape than to do any fighting, and she had to be honest with herself, he was greatly outnumbered for one so young and obviously out of his league. “DAMN IT.” She growled. She knew she wouldn’t pass him by, she knew she’d help him. She couldn’t, after all allow them to be eight to one, even if this kid for some reason deserved a good beating; it wouldn’t be by such overwhelming numbers on their part.
She sunk into the shadows that lined the street and crept as close as she could and now could hear what they were saying and that made her roll her eyes all the more. The kid was a thief. She then had a mind to leave, but something told her that if she did, he was going to lead those men straight to the guild and then she cold only imagine what Grim would do to him in that case. “Stupid idiot.” She growled under her breath as she climbed a tree and looked down now at the men who were beginning to surround the kid.
Silently, Alara took out a few throwing knives and began to pick attackers off. “One, two three.” She almost giggled; it was too easy, as they fell to the ground, their fellow thugs looking around to see what happened to their companions. She hadn’t killed them, this kid was after all a thief and probably took something he really shouldn’t have so at the moment, the three lay there moaning in pain clutching at daggers sunk to the hilt inside their thighs and perhaps even embedded in a bone or two as Alara allowed herself to slowly fall from the tree she’d been hiding in to land inside their now half circle. The moment her feet touched the ground, she grabbed the boy by the back of his shirt and literally tossed him towards the guild, making it look as though she was simply trying to get him out of the way, and not look as though it was his intended destination.
She backed away from the remainder of the men, all stunned for but a short time by her initial attack. The boy though, hadn’t gone inside he just stood there looking dumbfounded at the obvious assassin. She guessed, like her, he couldn’t believe she was helping him. She growled and then whirled about and once more, grabbed the young boy by the front of his shirt this time and threw him hard up against the door, his shoulder smacking into it hard. “Get out of here.” She growled just as the remaining five rushed forward.
The door opened up and the boy dashed inside and slammed it shut behind him just as Alara jumped into the air, her feet running up the side of the building and then did a back flip over the attackers, catching one about the throat on her way down and hauling him backwards as she landed and rolled to the side, he was forced to do the same only as she did, he let go his head allowing him to slide down her body until his head was caught up in her feet where she gave a sharp twist and broke the man’s neck; this all happened so quickly that by the time the others turned on their new target, she was already up and awaiting their new attack.
“Not so big now that your target isn’t a small boy are you.” She growled. The boy hadn’t been that small, probably thirteen, but still, small enough. “Four more to go, come on guys, let’s play.” She near giggled as they started to come at her again. This was almost fun and she was toying with them, it was like a training session for a new assassin, for her, it was simply going to be a slaughter as these were nothing more than hired petty thugs. Whatever the boy had stolen, it was obviously worth something to someone who was willing to pay these thugs to reclaim it.
These men weren't armed, as she noticed with anything but small short swords and she even laughed as they approached her, each one now swinging his perspective weapon in her general direction. The first to come at her, she simply dodged the second, she pushed aside with the side with her arm coming up as she rounded and jumped in the air, knocking back the third attacker, sending him flying into the side of the guild with a loud thud as the fourth totally just missed even coming close to his target, as she simply wasn’t there anymore, but instead, once more behind them shaking her head. “You really should call it quits boys, you can’t win this.” She told them in all honesty. “Besides, I don’t want to kill you.” She then raised a brow at them. “Why don’t you tell what this is all about, maybe there’s another way to deal with it aside from me handing over the boy to a few thugs like yourselves.” She said as she held herself ready for what they might try next. As she was speaking to the remaining three, the fourth who had been slammed against the building tried to take her from behind and she whirled around before he could even get a hand so much as an inch from her and with tremendous force, she slammed the guys head into the door several times, which would have sounded as if some one were banging on it from the inside, then let his body fall in front of the building where he lay still.
