“There’s always a bigger fish in the sea.” Titus said warm heartedly in response to Kyrea’s initial reaction to his picking her. “And there are always young fish who will one day grow bigger as well.” He added with a wink. There was no telling what the future had in store, even for a man like Titus. Whether something would ever happen to him or not, his protégés could carry his legacy, and who was to say that none would ever grow to surpass him. To see the potential of greatness in others was a wonderful thing.
“If distraction was an ailment my dear, I’d have died sick long ago.” Titus told his new friend with a laugh. “I never have been too good at focusing.” He continued with a self mocking smirk on his face. “But I always strive to understand, and I do believe I understand, for the most part. This is what you need to do. I know it is what you have been doing, so I know it will come.”
Titus thought then on the passers by. Kyrea had wondered aloud, likely more so to her self than to him, but he always felt an opinion was worth sharing. “Many people hide things.” He began to explain, “And many would rather not know them.” He continued, looking out the window. “Ignorance is bliss after all; it is a folly to be wise.” Titus added, shaking his head. “People are content to perceive what people show, never questioning the truth of it or wondering what lies beneath. Truly it is a sorry way to be, but they all enjoy the lack of worry that comes from not knowing that they should worry.” Titus had a habit of over analyzing things and expressing all his thoughts. Usually, people failed to follow, or got too disinterested to if they could.
“So I guess I’m saying most people don’t in fact know who they are walking beside, though they all surely think they do.” He concluded, summing up what he had been saying.

Kyrea listened to what he had to say about her distractions and though she had to admit he was right, that even the most attuned person would be distracted by something, be it their surroundings or something inwards, it was still a distraction. She gave a half laugh. “Yes I do supposes I perhaps put too much stress on distractions than I should, as every one is distracted at something, more often than not.” She admitted, though still, she had a feeling she shouldn’t allow herself those distractions.
She listened still to his talk of her musing over the passerby’s and smiled at him as he analyzed the situations people found themselves in more often than not and when he’s finished speaking she put on a quirky smile just before she made her next comment.
“I would introduce myself but alas it would seem you already know me, or at the most you think you do.” She stated and smiled. “It is a quote from a Vampire Queen named Celeste, you will find it in her diary, truly an amazing piece of work she was and I try often to follow in her footsteps, not trying to be her of course, just learning from her.” She told him with a smile. “I think you will find her both humorous and delightful the same as I had. Though a strong and an iron fisted leader of our people, was kind and wiling to listen to them as well.” She added. “I think that is what she was telling us when she wrote it, though put it in one sentence.” She laughed slightly.
Kyrea liked to simply sit and talk like this with Titus, though they may not be discussing weather or how the world works directly in conjunction to magic, they did have interesting facts about the world around them and its creatures as well. It was truly an eye opener as well, for her own personal delight, she was spending time with her friend and nothing was more pleasant than that thought, at the moment.

“As I said my dear,” Titus started with a warm smile, “I never have been good at focusing on one thing at a time. You did see my study hall after all.” He added with a chuckle at the evidence he provided for his statement. “I am constantly distracted by other thoughts and other ideas.” Titus shook his head as he looked into Kyrea’s eyes.
“I decided long ago that I would never be able to change that about myself, and truly, that I shouldn’t need to. In every weakness, there is a strength. I firmly believe that any flaw can be manipulated to become a virtue.” Titus paused then and looked obviously to be questioning the totality of what he had just said. “There are obviously exceptions to every rule.” He added then, feeling comfortable with the way his statement then concluded. He had been thinking of course of the weaknesses he saw in too many others, such as ignorance and naivety.
“I have since decided not to view my distractions as a lack of focus, but rather as extra perceptions.” He added finally, getting to the point he had intended. “I chose to believe that my distractions do not necessarily remove my targets from my perception, but rather add others to my perspective. It is a more constructive way to look at it I think.”
“This Celeste does sound like an interesting read.” He added then, continuing the conversation to Kyrea’s later comments. “The way you describe her seems to be that she walked a very thin line in control and guidance; a very delicate measure of leadership. Few are capable of such intricate balance. I think I should like greatly to learn of a woman who sounds to have in fact been obviously capable.”
Speaking of multiple topics at once made the conversation sound chopped. It wasn’t anything that bothered Titus at all, actually it inspired him. Following multiple lines of thought was an exercise he rarely had the chance to work.

Kyrea smiled at the thought of his seeming disorder up in his tower room. Certainly at first glance it seemed a total mess of negligently scattered books, but the way Kyrea had perceived it was a great mind working on several things all at once and this is what brought that smile to her lips more so than any words he had just spoken, though the words did provoke the thought. She shook her head and laughed slightly. “Yes indeed, I do see your point in thought on the matter.” She replied in short. “I guess in order to truly focus on any one situation one must fist focus on many. I do believe that to focus too closely on one matter might become a single minded thought and that certainly is not the way I would prefer to be.” She continued still. “So the distractions I feel out here, in the living and moving world are much then like those in the world of books and learning, whereas I am finding answers within answers in a great many different point of views.” She stated and her smile grew. “Indeed, I suppose I shouldn’t put so much stock on being distracted then and begin instead to use those distractions to further my thoughts on what it is I am focusing on.” She finished with a slight laugh, thinking of the passersby and what if any of what she had just said would scramble any of their minds into a great mash of goo.
The little Queen then looked around, her eyes hadn’t really been focusing on anything at all when she was speaking, instead they had been someplace else, some place distant as she thought about outside influences and then noticed the light of the sun in the sky and sighed.
“I think it is time we go Titus, I have something more for you at the Manor and would like plenty of time to hand it over to you.” She told him then as she stood from her chair and smile at him still.
The talk of Celeste and rulers had brought her to think that perhaps he should indeed hold in his power what she had not wanted to carry to him. Something that she would never touch again, though figured, he may find a very interesting read. Her manner as well faded slightly when she thought of it, but she still put forth her sunny disposition; as truly, she was still happy, just felt a cold chill at the thought of even showing it to him.

“Yes my dear that is exactly how you should see it.” Titus was excited. He was glad his idea had carried over as he had intended it. The master mage was not always the best at expressing his thoughts in a manner that people could understand. His thoughts were usually too complex even for his own words to convey.
As Kyrea stood, so did Titus. He had assured her earlier that he would definitely walk her home, and he certainly was more than glad to do so. She then gave him even more reason to see the queen to her home with the prospect of even more gifts. Already what she had given him was immense.
“Your offer seems to bother you dear.” Titus said calmly as he walked to Kyrea’s side and put an arm around the small of her back. “I wouldn’t want to accept something if you fear to give it.” He concluded earnestly. The last thing he wanted was for the woman to be uncomfortable with anything between them.
“You can think more on whether you truly wish to offer whatever you’re thinking of as we walk.” He said kindly as he started to step towards the door, having already left coins enough to pay on the table earlier.
