Kyrea walked beside him as they moved along and happily for that matter. She was outside again, though awkward as it did feel without Drannis she was perfectly comfortable at the side of Titus. She looked around at the people walking by and well listened as the birds sang in the trees and as well, to the calls of various mobile shop owners at the market.
“No, no I don’t eat food though I could go for something to drink.” She told him. “My insides just simply won’t take solids.” She shuddered slightly at the memory of the one and only time she had tried to eat something solid and she definitely would not ever try that one again. “Nope, nothing solid, thanks.” She giggled at her own self.
They walked further on until they came to what had become Kyrea’s favorite watering hole and the place where the two had met the previous day. “Is this ok, or do you have a special place you’d prefer to it?” She then asked of him. “Oh and yes I will let you know when, hopefully we won’t get too involved in or conversation that I forget again that I need to go.” She made light of the earlier situation. “And I honestly can’t think of a more pleasurable thing than to spend the day with you.” She added with a warm smile.
It was true, she found his company very pleasurable indeed and couldn’t think of anything more so. Her feeding was more necessity than pleasure, unlike to her kind she knew, but it was the way it was.

Titus grimaced at the thought of never eating food. It just seemed like such a terrible malediction that a person, despite the sensational benefits of being a vampire, would surely sorely miss. He for one, would never be able to give up the joys that came from tasting great foods.
“I have no particular place, no,” Titus replied, “I prefer, in fact, to sample varieties of shops so that I may experience all manner of society.”
Kyrea’s intent of another full day in conversation was a wonderful plan to Titus. “Another day will be quite splendid.” He stated with a vast smile. “And yes, I do hope for your sake that we remember the time of day. I hate to have you feel out of place.”

Kyrea then moved on, there was another diner not too far down the street from this one that she always found quite comfortable in. Though she was certain that Titus more than likely knew it was there, decided, after his comment that they would change their surroundings for the day and reside in there instead.
"Ok well then lets move a little farther down street to that small diner up there and get you fed and I think a nice cup of cocoa for me.” She smiled now thinking of the warm liquid running down her throat, the sweet taste and wonderful smell of the chocolate.
As they walked a bit further, she managed to take in her surroundings and was happy to see that the morning was starting out to be a peaceful one in the city, so often if hadn’t been as of late. Almost every time her and Drannis walked this sway, there would be a thief or an assassin waiting around a corner for someone. Or simply some thug out to mug some poor person who had little to offer them anyway, which reminded her and she wondered for a moment if that guy was taken tot the hospital on time the night before. To this she spent very little time on thought about a it was just a passing thing, either way, she shouldn’t have cared, it was the loss of one more jerk on the streets.
“It’s a quiet morning.” She commented. “Peaceful.” She added as they made their way to the door of the diner.

“Yes,” Titus replied to Kyrea’s later comment. “The clouds seem to chase most people away, and with them, the vermin and pests of the city as well. That’s the nice part about the hazier days.” Truly that was how things went. Of course, the nights that followed those hazy days were usually still bustling, as the clouds no longer mattered when the sun was set. It was only cold and rain that would slow the streets at night.
“Oh this place looks quaint.” Titus stated as he looked about the little diner they had ventured into and smiled. He had never been there before. It was one of the shops that he had passed and never made his rounds to among all the others that were cropping up all over the city. “Hot cocoa sounds good, I think I’ll have one as well with my meal.” He added, pondering Kyrea’s choice of drink.
Titus picked up a menu on the way into the diner and swiftly spotted a small table for two in the corner. Walking directly over to it, Titus pulled out a chair and wave Kyrea in to sit before rounding the table and taking a seat of his own. Looking over the menu, Titus saw a number of things that sounded quite nice. He decided though that the resident special would clearly be his choice, as he hadn’t seen that dish anywhere before. He would have to try it. “This fried corn cobbler sounds quite intriguing.” He said with a smile as he looked up at Kyrea. “I shall have to have it.”

Kyrea grinned. “And on nights like these, there is no lack of predatory monsters, taking advantage of the shadows cast by those clouds.” She spoke his thoughts, almost as if reading his mind, though of course she couldn’t do that.
“Thank you” She said as she seated herself in the chair offered her by him.
She waited for him to find what his found to be something interesting to eat. She knew the menu already and knew there was plenty to choose form, having ordered food for Drannis often. This seemed to be one of his favorite places to eat. Of course she usually found that these smaller places were among his favorite when it came to dining out. Of course, she never knew if it was the food, or if he was just trying to keep her from spending too much on him, though of course, Kyrea would spend her fortune on him should he had asked.
“Sounds, if I remember the taste of foods correctly, like it might be pretty good.” She told Titus just before their waiter arrived at the table.

“In fact it does.” Titus replied smiling as the waiter was just arriving. “I would like a serving of this fried corn cobbler.” He said, looking up at the waiter. “And we will have two cups of hot cocoa.” He added, gesturing towards his companion.
“And anything to eat for the lady?” asked the waiter, smiling down at Kyrea.
Titus allowed her to answer for herself. “Yes the clouds do bring more monsters in the night.” He said after the waiter had left. “All those who rather hunt and kill than enjoy the gifts that their existence has given them. And it isn’t only them either, but the thieves and the assassins, all sorts of vile people creep about when the sun doesn’t shine. Of course they’re out in the sun as well, some of them, but at least then you can see them better.” Titus shook his head as he thought of those evil people of all sorts raising hell all about the world.
“There had been a time after the great reign of dark mages when people were so satisfied with the new found peace that they all, for the most part at least, lived in harmony. It’s sad that without the evil lurking, people forget to appreciate the better things in life.” The state of the world was especially bothersome to Titus, the great white master mage since he had fought so hard to bring the world out into the light.

Kyrea smiled up at the waiter when he asked if she would want anything and of course she declined. “No thank you sir, I’m fine.” She told him simply, and then turned to Titus as he continued to speak. She listened once more to his voice rather than just his words, taking in the total meaning of his every word at the same time.
“Oh yes I do not leave out the common thugs and Thieves that come with the dark as I believe that they are much worse at times than those things that stories are told about to children to make them stay in bed at night. I honestly find that the common thug is much worse a monster than any Lycan I have ever run into” She told him, meaning every word of it, and that was something coming from a vampire.
She was thinking on the night before, the thug who had wanted something of her that he simply didn’t get and she had to take a breath again. It was a moment where she was quiet, but hen, she shook her head. “I had a run in with one of those said monsters just last night and I was certainly glad he’d chosen the wrong girl to plan on making his victim and now, I suppose, if they got him to the hospital on time, that it will at least one less monster on the streets.” She purred at this and then laughed slightly. ”Either way, I do suppose it was his own fault.” She added.
She thought a bit more, this time on his talk of the light days that had followed the dark and she sighed. “What a time that must have been…” She left it hanging, her mind slipping to a time of great peace.
“Do you suppose that perhaps it is just that people get bored and that is the beginning of the reason for the great evil that is done?” She then asked.

“Well it sounds like you had a more eventful night last night than you first let on.” Titus stated with an inquisitively raised brow. He didn’t ask any specific questions about her run in, because he figured it wasn’t important. She had obviously retaliated against a vermin of the night, and he didn’t need to know how that was. He had no quarrel with what Kyrea was and would never think to condemn her for the things that she was naturally inclined to do. In this scenario even, she would seem to have been a sort of vigilante hero by default. He may possibly have felt an inkling of pride at his new friend’s achievement, but did not want to put himself in a situation where he would feel vindicated for someone’s death.
“I don’t believe so much that people get bored with peace,” Titus began, answering Kyrea’s later question, “I do truly believe that people long for peace and people love peace. I think though, that when people have peace and have not known war, they come to take peace for granted. They lose sight of the value of what they have and they come to forsake it.” Titus shook his head at the thoughts, thinking of all the terrible things that people did simply for the sake of doing them.
“People today have never truly suffered like we did so long ago.” He began again. “And therefore, people today do not care enough about the peace that they have, that they have been born into. Even the wars of nations can not truly give them a proper understanding of the darkness that once covered the world, and I now see lurking once again. It truly is a sad time for me.”

Kyrea laughed at his first statement, truly she always had an eventful night, each and every time she went out, there was something to tell, in anyone’s book for that matter, be it by her own doing, or to the spur of someone else’s stupidity, either way, her nights were never dull.
“Ya, well my nights move in many different directions, either at my own hand or the hand of someone else. One way or another it all turns out to be quite interesting for the most part. Even after these long years it never ceases to amaze me how fun it is to walk about at night in a girl’s guise and to thwart attackers of any size, simply with a thought or a shrug. Of course, there are those times when I might have a run-in with a Lycan, then things can get pretty ugly, but never dull.” She told him her eyes taking on a satisfied look.
Her mood changed however as he told about the peaceful days and how people just seem to stop appreciating peace for what it is. She could feel her friends’ pain, and it saddened her to know how hurtful it truly must be for him to have to live with knowing that even through all his efforts to bring them peace, they throw it away. Like a slap in the face is what it must be like. Of curse, she could only speculate on that, as truly, she did not know, she wasn’t there.
Kyrea laid a small hand on his and her face turned up to gaze into his dark eyes, her own blue orbs showing the care and love she was developing for this man and everything he stood for. She did care, she would never let him down or at least she would do her best to try not to, being a dark creature by nature, at times was not an easy battle for her to win internally, but having him now, might somehow strength her resolve against what she hated so much and she truly did feel his pain, felt it deeper perhaps than he could have known.
“I won’t let you down Titus.” She smiled at him and was about to say more when the server turned up to bring them their order.

Titus smiled at Kyrea as she spoke, and then at the waiter as he delivered the food and drinks. “Thank you.” He said politely to the waiter. Their order had come quite fast, with which Titus was both pleased and impressed.
“I know you won’t” Titus said softly with a warm smile to Kyrea after the waiting man had left. “You aren’t like most people.” He continued, gazing into her eyes with his own. “You learn and you love, and most importantly you strive to be better, to be who you want to be. I don’t see you taking life lying down. And I’m certain that you don’t give up.”
Titus sipped from his hot chocolate as he thought for a moment, sadly. “Even the mages in my order don’t truly appreciate the peace. They have grown desensitized to the common immorality of the world. Some even fought in the light rising, but even those never knew the time before. The war was long and all those still here now came to the world during the up rise. It is even sadder still, that those who even fought, do not care so much as they should.”

Kyrea slid her hand from his as they food was brought over to their table, though her eyes never left his, except for the moment it would have taken to find her cup of cocoa and slide it between her small hands. She then listened to him once more, wondering about the reign of darkness, wondering about past events all together and then a thought came to her and she made a mental note for later on this subject.
She felt pride in herself at his kind words to her. It felt wonderful to think he would find her in so high regard. Her lips turned up but she said nothing on the subject of herself, as she was just content to leave it there for now. Though she did smile happily at him for those words.
Hearing about those who fought and still did not remember, or forgot how to cherish was truly a sad thing indeed, and as it saddened Titus, so too did it twinge Kyrea’s heart with a pain.
“It is indeed sad Titus…” She said and then took a sip from her cocoa. “There are too far few people in this world who cherish what they have and would seek to take all they can instead of looking about them to realize that what they have is far more important than what others do. To cherish ones life and to love others without strings attached, and despite what they might have done, to love one for who they truly are as well ones self is true love and a love that I see far to little any more.” She went on. “To see life for what it is, precious and beautiful…” She went on but paused. “Seems to take the background today. It is almost as if darkness is desired over light…” She kept pausing as she spoke, as if trying to keep her small form under control. “…As if people don’t care what is going on around them, as if they won’t see past their own existence to even stop and smell a rose and appreciate that they have the freedom to do as such.” She sighed and then took a drink of her cocoa again, deciding she’ d best cease her talk on the subject, her passion beginning to get the better of her.
When she had taken her drink from her cocoa she blew a piece of hair from her face and watched as it lay right back where it had been before her futile effort had disturbed it. She sighed and then just decided to leave it as she took yet another drink from her cocoa.

“Anyways,” Titus started after taking a few bites from his fried corn cobbler. “On to better things.” He continued with a smile trying to shake the more depressing thoughts from his head. “I have a new friend.” He said with a wide smile and then took a sip of cocoa and lifted his glass before putting it down. “A friend who brings a great ray of hope to my dismal forecast on the world. A friend who’s very natural predisposition would have her inclined to the darker traits of life, and yet pursues greatness and kindness.”
Titus truly was impressed by the young queen of vampires, and he truly was inspired by her. All the disappointing things in his life finally had a counter. Instead of light natured people striving to the darkness, he was met with a dark natured person striving for the light. No more hopeful thing could he have found.
“Also,” he added then after taking another bite of his cobbler, “This fried corn cobbler is fantastic.” With that, he took another bite, and then the final bite, before taking another sip from his cocoa. “You made a wonderful choice in dining cafes.”

Kyrea smiled at Titus, a very thankful smile that he was willing to change the subject; she would not have wanted their day filled with desiring thoughts. Certainly the entire subject merited talking of, but there were other things to move on to, once this one began to bring in such passionate despair in them both.
Her smile grew as he told her of his new friendship with her; this was delightful, as she did feel very much delighted from his friendship. “I certainly am glad you decided to talk to me in the café.” She told him with a smile and a sparkle of delight in her blue orbs. “I can’t think of another person who’s better suited to call friend than yourself.” She told him and smiled. “I don’t believe I have felt so….” She mused at the word for a moment and then let go a half laugh. “alive? Then I have these last couple days.” She finished with a nod of satisfaction in her choice of the word alive.
When he finished his cobbler and commented on how good it was, she again smiled. “Drannis seems to like this place quite a lot, I do believe it might actually be his favorite place to dine when we are out and about.” She told him, that same loving look coming to her face entirely when thinking about her dear Drannis.
After a few sips from her cocoa she looked up at Titus again a wondering look she had this time as she thought about something. “I’ve obviously been working hard on my skills with wind.” She started. “At night, when I am stronger, my power in the art is stronger as well. I am truly hoping that one day, I might be able to wield its beauty as proficiently in this guise, as in the other. With what you have opened up to me, I believe that dream too can come true and well, I know you don’t think thanks are in order, but, thanks anyway Titus, you have no idea what you have brought me.” She finished as well, taking the last sip of her cocoa and setting the empty container on the table.
Of course, all in one sentence without saying so much, she was thanking him for being who he was, and seeing her, for what she strived to be and not judging her for what she could be.

“I’m glad too.” Titus replied, “But I have to admit I knew you would be a smart one.” He laughed. “Anyone reading anything I wrote would have to be a devout academic. Nothing I wrote is the slightest bit interesting, so you would have to have been interested already. You could almost say I picked you.”
Titus pulled a few coins out of his pant pockets to leave on the table. They would be enough to pay for the meal and both hot cocoas, with a politely generous tip. Titus always had a few spare coins in pant pockets. That was his manner of carrying money so he always had some, but never too much. “Drannis has good taste, this place is quite nice.” Titus stated, grinning in approval of the diner.
Titus smiled widely and nodded his head to Kyrea. “I would be pleasured and honored to guide you in your quest to learn more of the wind. I have studied it very deeply, and you’ll have a lot to read on the matter by me in the tower; many of them very similar, yet significantly different.” He truly was excited to have a new pupil, an apt one he was sure.
“I think therefore I am.” Titus stated simply with a smile. “Perception is everything. Knowledge is power.” He added. “As you’re understanding grows, so will your aptitude. I see no reason that you would experience a difference, since it is your knowledge of the wind that gives you your powers. It must be the senses that make the difference. When you know know more, you will learn to compensate.”

Kyrea grinned, a happy one at that. She had not thought of the word student, had thought to be considered as such in a very long time. However, it was true, she had already become as such without knowing it. Her desire to become more than she was already was very powerful a desire indeed. It was something she knew she would strive for, for all eternity, and every day would turn a new leaf for her, especially now that she had someone to share it with, someone who could help her turn those leaves and making turning them just that much more pleasant.
“Picked me did you?” She grinned. “That’s an interesting concept to be picked rather then doing the picking on my own.” She smiled larger than before, that smile extending to her entire face. “Well, I am most fortune a soul to have been plucked from the sea by such an incredible mind.” She stated quite honestly, her smile still shining over her ceramic features.
When he had laid the coins on the table, Kyrea didn’t object, it was his choice and she simply smiled and then leaned back slightly on her chair as she allowed her gaze to flow to the window and outside at the passersby. “I wonder how many of them truly know who it is they walk along side of.” She mused, her blue orbs scanning each individual separately. She then shook her head and shrugged.
“Yes, I think you may be right, as at night I am, believe it or not, ever more passionate and quite more attuned to my surroundings than I am during the day.” She started and then thought a moment. “Yes, much less focused though I do try, I tend to become distracted. A failing I find quite infuriating at times.” She rolled her eyes at herself.
