Riley skimmed quickly through the streets, his legs carrying him quickly through the streets, faster than a normal human. A light rain had started, dotting his shirt with little wet spots. He ran quickly onto the ground of his new home, a wooden box in his arms. He held the box against his chest protectively as he dashed up to the large mansion.
He opend the door carefully, stepping inside and looking around. He heard the faint whispers, but couldn`t see where they came from. He shook his head, making little droplets of water hit the floor, and started up to his room. He went along slowly, admiring the books that seemed to be everywhere. A smile appeared on his face as he passed more and more books.
He turned a corner and saw the door that would lead to the corner room he now called his. After Riley stepped inside and closed the door, he dropped the box on his bed and turned to open the heavy curtains that covered the windows in the daylight hours. He took in a sharp breath as he caught sight of the view.
Rain blurred everything and covered the world with a murky grey color. He sighed softly and turned again, heading back out into the hall.
He walked even slower this time, reading the names on the sides of the books as he passed. He stopped in front of a book case, not far from the stairs, and bent down silently to look at the books on the lower shelves.

Kyrea had just gotten in from her nightly feed. She was absolutely soak form the summer rain that danced and played down from the clouds above them on this night. The fact that she was so wet had more to do with however, the fact that she loved the summer rains and had played it the puddles on her way home, as well simply stayed out in the rain, longer than she needed to just to simply enjoy its cleansing and appealing feel.
When she closed the door to eh mansion, she was greeted by the whispers of those who had already made it to their rooms for the remainder of the night and she smiled to them. She loved her vampires, loved each and every one of them that stayed beneath this rather large roof she opened up for them and they returned her love, as vampires usually would.
She started her way upstairs and paused on the second story floor then peered down the hall where she saw him kneeling over one of the bookshelves resting there admiring the many different tombs. She decided to walk over I lue of changing first, this of course, left a trail of water to follow her footsteps in his direction, but she didn’t mind, it was only water after all.
“Hi.” She greeted Riley simply and knelt beside him, her eyes searching a few spines herself. “How was your night?” She asked, turning her head to gaze at him with her ever-lasting warm smile.

Riley had begun to run his first finger over the sides of the books when he heard footfalls on the stairs. He turned his head to see who it was, and returned Kyrea`s arm smile. "Hey." He said as she crouched beside him, his gaze flickering back towards the titles.
"You said you had books, I just wasn`t expecting all of these." He lifted his other hand in a gesture of something large. "I`m suprised I didn`t see them all the first time I call through this hall." His eyes rested on the other vampire.
"This, right here, is a good book." He ran his fingers lovingly and carefully over the spine of an old book, his eyes softening as he looked at it.

Kyrea’s lips turned up again into that warm smile as he spoke and wider even as he mentioned how many there were. He of course still hadn’t seen the enormous library, but he would, and probably soon, if not this night, as the rain would put a damper on watching the sky. It was quite difficult to see through rain clouds, after all.
“Yes, that is a wonderful book.” She agreed with him.
Kyrea had read most of the volumes of tombs in the house and knew some of the authors of them as well, one in particular she had met very recently and had spent a great deal of time with. That of course was Titus, the White Master Mage. She smiled at the thought of him, a thoughtful sort of smile, she really did keep him in her heart, one of the expanding numbers of humans that had begun to prop up in recent days it seemed.
“Do you want to visit the library?” She then asked, her eyes glinting with a spark of joy at the thought, bringing her face to lighten up even in the flickering light of the torch-lit hall.

Riley ran his fingers again over the book as she spoke, then he jerked his head up, a lopsided grin on his face. "The library? Y-Yeah." He stuttered, his eyes full of curiosity. He quickly made a rough estimate in his head.
There were about... two hundred books in this hall, he guessed. If the rest of the halls were filled with about the same amout of books..... His eyes widened slightly at the thought. That would be a lot of books. Good thing he had nothing better to do with his free time than to read. Good thing he liked reading, too.

Kyrea noted his pause in thought and her lips drew even further up and she even gave a half laugh. “Indeed, did I not tell you, if it was books you sought, I have many?” She raised a brow at him and then nudged him playfully with her elbow. “Come on, I’ll introduce you to one of the best places in this mansion anyone could dream of, that is, anyone who likes to read, of course.” She winked at him and then stood and turend towards the stairs again.
Kyrea was excited about showing Riley the library, as she knew it would be appreciated by him and used. Of course, the others enjoyed it as well, but none in a long time seemed so genuinely attached to reading and knowledge as much as herself, well, within these wall at any rate. Certainly, there were those who liked to read, and those who picked up a book form time to time here, but none that so seemed to enjoy the actual thought even of what they could find here as he did and that was just one more thing that endeared him to the little Queen.
“I just know you’ll love it as I do.” She then stated as she began walking down the hall with him.

Riley beamed, then stood up quickly as she did. "Well, yeah. You did tell me you had books. But you didn`t exactly specify." He explained with a grin.
He barely noticed the water on the floor as the headed towards the stairs. It wasn`t like he hadn`t tracked in water, either, he had just been a little more carefull about it. This time as he followed Kyrea through the halls, he noted where all of the books were. He noticed when there were more books and when there were less. He noticed that the areas with more books often looked as if they had been visited more, which he could guess they had.

Kyrea continued to walk, turning down towards the stairs, but passing them over and moved down yet another hall. “Don’t worry, you’ll get the sense of the place soon enough, I realize it si rather huge.” She smiled gently.
She wasn’t exaggerating either. The place was a maze of halls and doorways not to mention stairs that lead to various parts of the house. There was even a laundry shoot here or there as well, though they looked as if they mostly went unused. It would seem that their should have been a full staff of maids to take care of the place, but there wasn’t, only those who lived her, and it seemed they did an excellent job in keep up after themselves.
Through another door then up a flight of stairs they moved, and then to the right down a hall until she finally came to a stop in front of a pair of great double doors. She pushed them open with a smile on her lips and what eh would see in there would be perhaps one of the largest rooms ever, even the town library might have fit in here, no it would have with a bit of room to spare.
The Library had windows that surrounded it fully, all open at this time of night, there was a fire placed directly across form them that burned happily in its hearth and there seemed to be a couple dozen tables about with chairs pushed under them as well, as they stepped inside and looked around, there were many cushions and soft chairs that looked very pleasing to sit in while one read. The ceiling was high and vaulted, the top of it lost to sight in the darkness so far over head.. The shelves though, the shelves upon shelves upon shelves of books, perhaps thousands and more even lined the wall from top to bottom on every wall.
“Welcome home Riley.” She smiled at him as she looked around.

Riley followed Kyrea quickly, anticipating greatly where they were headed. He started watching his surroundings less and less and started to wonder how far away the library was. Whent hey reached the double doors, he was practically jumoing up and down like a little girl. But when the doors opened he gasped.
Stepping inside the great room, he looked around. Quickly, but taking in all of the details. The fireplace, the tables and chairs, the windows, the vaulted ceiling, everything. He saved the books for last, knowing that they would make him lose his train of thought, which they did.
He could only read a few of the titles from his spot in the middle of the room, but he could see how many there were. By the look of them, they ranged from rather thin pieces, that he by the way could barely call books, to volumes that seemed a thousand pages thick.
He turned around slowly, scanning the many shelves. When he completed the circle and was facing Kyrea again, he smiled at her, his eyes bright.

Kyrea returned his bright smile with one of her own, her dark blue orbs glistening in the lighter space of the library. The lights in here consisted of a great chandelier that hung in the center, clear crystal candleholders that contained quite passably thousands of white candles, as well, and as always the walls between the shelves held clear crystal scones filled with shorter, but much wider white candles too. The use of candles, though perhaps quite a bit more expensive and needing of changing more often than torches, proved for a purpose. Not only did they not smell oily, they as well did not spread an oily residue over the thousands of books, also, there was none of that heavy smoke-like vapor to hang in the air and make it hard to breath at times that torches did and provided greater light, when added to the clear crystal holders.
Kyrea moved over to Riley and stuck her arm under his and stood next to him, looking around at her accomplishment proudly. “I take it you like what I have created in here.” She stated more so than asked a she could pretty well ascertain that he did indeed enjoy what it was that met his eyes. “And to think, my parents used to use this room for nothing more than a party room with billiards tables and a bar.” She grinned up at him now. “Oh, of course I’ve kept that room alive, I just moved it to a much smaller place.” S he then giggled.

Riley`s smile became less amazed, and more realistic. "Yes. I like this place you have here a lot." His smile fell, though, as he spoke his next sentence. "And you were very correct when you moved the billiards and the bar." He grinned a crooked grin.
Riley couldn`t help but break his gaze from Kyrea`s and look areound at the books again. He could focus a little more now that he had gotten over the amazement of it. He could read a few more of the titles, and some of them suprised him. He recognized some of the names; although he hadn`t read them before, he knew some of them were good books.

Kyrea continued to smile and after a few moments, she unwound her arm from his and moved over to one of the comfortable chairs and sat, her eyes moving over the many volumes until they stopped on one she found looked interesting to her. She held her hand out and a rush of soft wind ran through the library and in a matter of a few seconds, the book she wanted was floating on the wind until it landed neatly in her grasp.
“Yes, it is nice to laze about by the fire and read from time to time.” She stated, opening the volume and peering inside of it for a moment before closing it and settling it on the end table next to her.
There were ladders with rollers on them attached to the many shelves of course, for the others and Kyrea herself for when she wasn’t feeling so inclined to being this lazy. Likewise many of the chairs all most comfortable and appealing to look at, surrounded the hearth, which was where she sat now, allowing the gentle flames to dry her clothing.

Riley watched Kyrea as she moved to the chair with a book. He mimicked her movements after she had seated. He didn`t even look to see which book he grabbed until he sat. The heavy book had a collection of symbols on the cover, and it took him a quick moment to figure our that the book was full of folk tales.
He opend the book to a random page, scanning the words quickly. "Yes, and it`s also nice to waste the whole day and read sometimes." He replied, glancing back up to Kyrea.

Kyrea picked her book back up and opened it up to the first page and began reading. It felt nice sitting by the fire, her clothes beginning to dry as she comforted herself the tale of the life of another vampire that lived thousands of years ago.
Kyrea wasn’t so into Fiction as she was reading the real life stories of her predecessors and the like, but from time to time would read a good fantasy novel, so long as it wasn’t one of those trash novels that she considered a waste of time. Though of course, she did hold those in her library too, for those who did actually like them. She turned to watch Riley shortly, taking her eyes form the book for a few moments and then returning them with a comforted sigh and continued to read.

Riley, too, began to read. He found that his book was of plants; not his favorite subject, but it was a book. He would have plenty of time for reading another time. His eyes flickered up when Kyrea`s did, then he quickly looked back down to his book.
When she sighed, his eyes flickered up to her again. He exhaled deeply, the scent of leather and paper filling his nose.
