Saturdays were the busiest days at the city library. Most people who worked, didn't, and anyone attending schools had no class. It was a wonderful environment to to be in too, since everyone there was there in the search for knowledge. Of course the public library was not filled with mages, but regular mortal civilians. Titus liked to make regular visits out to the main city library when there were plenty of people there seeking knowledge. Surrounding himself with scholarly minded people made the old mage's life work seem a little less futile.
Titus opened up the massive double doors from the white tower and left the passage open from the tower's front foyer to the inside of the city library. There were no books on the first floor of the tower, and there were of course, a couple of responsible mages on the second floor who would turn away any civilians either unknowing or venturous enough to wander up the steps. The open doors were to signify to the library patrons that the knowledge and wisdom of the tower was open to them through the master mage himself who was visiting in the library. He mainly roamed the area near the doors, so he wouldn't be too hard to find.
Titus wandered through the halls of the library smiling and greeting the patrons along their search for books of whatever category they sought. He found a few people to aid briefly, but none yet to fully emerge in thoughtful conversation. There was usually someone though, if not a few people. These times he spent in the public library encouraged Titus, since all the people there were there out of a desire to learn, not only because their lifestyle demanded it.

Sky peeked her head over her desk, her eyes seeing him but she didn’t say anything right at first, she liked to watch him walk around helping those who sought it, it was after, what he seemed to do best. She liked Titus, he was always fair enough as a leader goes, and as a friend and conversationalist, he was the best. She continued to watch him, putting aside her book for the moment and settling her elbows on the desk, she opened her hands and placed her chin there, smiling the entire time, awaiting an opportunity to say hello.
Finally, after several long moments, he was without some person coming to him for advice or otherwise searching for something that could have been found easily enough through the card catalog, much more easily found through another’s wisdom.
“Hey sexy, nice of you to come and join us lower ranking citizen.” Sky’s voice would find his ear, her tone totally teasing of course. “Been so long that I thought you’d honestly forgotten how much it was that I longed to have you near.” She giggled as the words fell from her mouth. She of course, didn’t see him in this manner, and was just totally being herself. “How’s about you come over here and give your girl a kiss?” She smiled up at him, her chin still resting on her hands.
Titus knew her well enough to know she’d been joking of course, save for perhaps that last part about the kiss, that part she wanted from her old friend and Master. “I promise I won’t bite, too hard.” She then added and grinned even wider, if that was at all possible.
Her library wasn’t run like most human libraries, she encouraged people to talk amongst themselves, there were quiet rooms for those who preferred to study alone of course, but the main part of the library was always buzzing with conversations and the sounds of books being passed from one hand to the next in comparison. It was truly a learning environment and not a military lock down or school.

The old master mage smiled warmly when he heard the voice of his trusted librarian and looked over his shoulder to catch the sight of her. "Oh you know i look down at this place every day from my mighty perch." Titus said sarcastically as he stepped towards the desk where Sky was seated. "We should have a sky light right here so i could see all yee pions from my mighty loft." He added, gesturing his hands above them to the ceiling and then waved them around him towards all the citizens in the library.
"I'll always come down here to see you if for no other reason." Titus said then with an honest smile as he reached his trusted librarian and pressed his lips against hers for a couple seconds with one hand over one of hers on her cheek. He did mean what he said, in a manner. Sky was one of the few mages in his order who still had a passion for knowledge. Truly, her company was important to Titus as it restored his hope at times, from the discouragement he felt from the rest of the order.
"You can bite as hard as you want." He joked then with a wink. "I'll always love you."

Sky returned his friendly peck and smiled up at him, now taking her chin off her hands and folding her arms in front of her as she leaned in resting against the counter. She smiled at his go ahead for the bite and snapped her teeth at him biting the air in his general direction and then smiled.
“And I will forever love you.” She told him in her usual happy tone.
It wasn’t often anyone found Sky to be in a bad mood, unless of course she’d just simply been having ‘one of those days’. Today however was not one of those and so, she was in perfect humor for dealing with the busiest day of the week, which always helped when things were moving along so fast.
“Oh Titus, you can look down at us from on High any day you wish, but don’t you dare think to maim my library in any way.” She gave him a friendly glare. She knew he was joking, and of course so was she, sort of. She loved her library, of course, it had nothing to do with magic or the use there of, but it had in it quite a lot of interesting reads on regular humans and their histories and such. These of course, Sky had devoured long ago in her studies of human behavior, something she loved.
“How are things up there anyway?’ She asked, being a librarian to two of the largest collections this world had seen kept the little Mage quite busy and so the small talk, so it would seem to most, was most important in her case, as she seldom had time for it. She and Titus would have time for a good long intellectual talk at some point soon enough, right now, she wanted to get caught up on the local ‘gossip’.

Titus grinned at the snapping of Sky’s teeth in his direction and thought warmly on her returned expression of love. “I could make it happen right now, actually.” The master mage joked with his hands held out to his sides, palms facing upwards to the ceiling. Of course he would never do such a thing, especially to a haven of knowledge like the library of Celesta was. Kidding around was always fun though, and Sky was a wonderful playmate.
“Things are looking up, up there my dear.” Titus replied with a somewhat pun to his trusted companion as he lowered his hands and leaned against her counter. “There has been interest shown in the knowledge the place holds.” He continued excitedly. “We won’t be the only people looking for a good read from the tower now.” The last was a bit of a musing, though serious it may be. Titus often commented to Sky that the two of them were the only ones who took use of the tower’s halls of text anymore.
“I recently met the vampire queen at a coffee shop down the street.” Titus began with an excited smile on his face. “She was reading my latest weather pattern predictions, of all things. I must say even I found it to be a dull read, but we got to talking. She is a rather smart person, and shows genuine interest in knowledge. I brought her to the tower and showed her around, now she has a desk in my room and an open invite to come along and read as she pleases. I couldn’t help but open the floor to someone so intelligent, so thirsty for knowledge.” Titus was smiling the entire time he recounted the tale to his ages old friend.
“Don’t be surprised if you see the pretty young thing wandering the halls of the tower.” The master mage continued. “She even contributed a number of volumes to our library a few nights ago. Unfortunately for you, I’m currently still hording them on my personal desk.” Titus winked at Sky with still the same wholehearted smile. “I have begun to read a few of them, and they all are quite fascinating. I promise to release them to you shortly.”
Titus thought then on the other recent interest he had found in the tower. “I also have found myself a new pupil.” He began, just as excited about this tale as the last. “A young fire mage was looking lost in the libraries of the tower and I had not seen him before. Turns out he has held the potential for power for some time now without ever having proper guidance. I now have gotten him on the right track, and dearly hope he keeps coming back.”
Titus paused a moment and simply thought happily of the bright new hope he was starting to feel for the great white tower he had built so long ago. “And what new stories have you to tell me?” He asked his friend with his warm smile still on his face and a genuinely interested, inquisitive tone.

Sky raised a brow at Titus as he held his hands upwards to her roof, though teasingly of course as she knew he’d never do anything like that, or at least not to a library. “You really are asking for it aren’t you.” She grinned widely at him while somehow still managing a pouting look about her as well, something this quirky little woman was able to do and do greatly. Then, after he began talking to her she watched him speak, watched how he seemed very pleased with the little Vampire Queen, she hadn’t heard him speak about, well, Anyone like this before and it pleased the small Mage to no end to see him so excited about her and to have given her a place in his own room? Now this was a bit of very interesting news to Sky and her smile widened as he continued to speak of her.
“You mean to tell me that she gave you some Vampire literature?” Sky said in a whisper, not wanting the general public to get wind of the fact. “Oh…” She nearly jumped over the counter in excitement about this little bit of knowledge herself, knowing what a rare thing this was. “Oh do please.. Oh my I mean.. Wow.” She just left it there, as she honestly didn’t know what else to say in her excitement words seemed to have left her in the cold on this one.
After a moment and she had gathered her excitement she then grinned devilishly at Titus. “So, pretty young thing, and you’ve even given up some space for her have you?” She then teasingly winked at him. “I think you fancy this little Queen.” She picked a bit further, the entire time her grin growing all the more devilish. After a moment, she just giggled slightly and let it go, though through him a look that said he was defiantly not off the hook on this one.
“And another student to boot?” She inquired raising a brow at him again. “Mr. Augustus, you sir have been a busy little bee lately.” She stated quite honestly. “Good, you were beginning to worry me a bit and I was starting to think I would have to step in and liven your days up with a little…” She grinded devilishly at him again. “Fun.” She ended with a wink. “Well, I do certainly hope he does keep coming back, just the simple fact that he had asked for your help though, was a good sign.” She then stated seriously.
Sky thought a moment about his question towards her and then smiled. “Oh, yes, yes.” She began with a slight smile this time. “I found a young male wandering into the Tower the other day as I was returning a few books and collecting a few others. He seemed quite lost and as it turned out, man was he.” She told Titus though never lost that small smile. “He and I had a great long talk though, and I do hope that he’s worked things out for himself, seems our talk did him some great good.” SHE continued. “I do hope at some point you do indeed run into him, he seems to be a very bright young man, actually quite knew to life and as well quite honestly thirsting for knowledge, be it to improve himself or find his way in life either way.” She told him. “Oh, he’s no Mage either, but seems perhaps the warrior type, I do hope he doesn’t get involved with the wrong sort up at that castle and continues to hang around, I should honestly like to keep him interested in studies.” She finished with that same slight smile.
“So….” She then leaned her elbows back on the counter and leaned forward towards Titus. “Let’s hear more about this little Queen of yours.” She grinned largely at him.

Sky’s enthusiasm was exactly what he loved so dearly about her. Well it was one of the things anyways. She really was one of his most cherished friends, possibly the most, in fact, as he had known her quite a while, though they were usually both too busy to talk too much. That thought struck Titus and he thought then that he should definitely need to make more time for his good old friend. “I do so love to stir you up, my dear.” He replied to her first comment. “And yes that’s what I mean.” He added, confirming the journals.
“I think my boy is turning a new page in his life where he wants to overcome his past failures.” Titus said of the new student he had found. “I get the sense he feels incomplete in his life and am hopeful that he will continue to seek fulfillment after the strong stride he made already the other day.”
“I only just met her.” Titus stated honestly about Kyrea. “I’m not blind though you know, and you’re a very pretty young thing yourself.” He added with a wink. “I would welcome you to liven my days any day, my friend. I don’t see near enough of you.”
Titus smiled as he thought of how Sky conceived his sacrifice of space to another desk in his room. “The woman seems as eager as I to have multiple topics to read. She clearly needed a space to make a mess.” He said of the fact, and then returned to his earlier thought about never seeing enough of Sky. “We should arrange you a room on the ninety ninth floor.” He said with a wide smile. He wasn’t even joking. Sky was important to Titus, and he loved her dearly. Much more in fact, that she surely knew. “We can move the shelves down to the table spaces on other floors, it’s not like anyone uses them anyways.” He continued, formulating a plan to get his old friend into the tower. “Or you could come share mine.” Titus added with a wink. He was the only person who lived in the white tower, but Sky was his most trusted mage, and his oldest and dearest friend.
“Perhaps your young man could be a scholar, not a warrior.” Titus began about Sky’s new pupil, turning the conversation back to its former path. “Sounds to me that he wants to learn, if he was wandering into the tower. Perhaps knowledge is part of what he seeks. That would suit you I’m sure.” He threw Sky a wink. “I think perhaps you fancy that man.” Titus kidded Sky just as she did him.
She seemed interested in Kyrea though, and Titus welcomed the opportunity to talk of her. “Kyrea is quite brilliant.” He said smiling. “And she practices magic of the wind. Quite avidly obviously, since she reads my forecast every year she says. Even I wouldn’t read those if I didn’t write them.” He joked at the end and smiled at Sky.

Sky smiled dearly at him as he stated the fact that indeed, they never did see one another quite as often as either would like to. “Yes, it is true, I am pretty aren’t I.” She stated with a grin and then shook her head slightly. “You’re a flirt Titus.” She then accused with that same grin. “But seriously, yes, I will think on your offer quite honestly, perhaps it just might make things a bit better after all, perhaps get us involved in delightful conversations such as these more often.” She continued to smile at him. “Though it would drive me insane to no end having a floor strewn in books with no proper place, I think would give me something more to do, though…” She regarded him for a few moments. “That too, wouldn’t be so bad either.” She finished and then giggled slightly. “After all…. These hands when left idle for too long do tend to get into trouble after all.” She added quite seriously. “Though no, I think two in your quarters is quite enough, you would have to quite literally change the size of the entire building to fit three like minded knowledge seekers in one room.” She laughed thinking of the whole affair.
“As for the boy, indeed, I am certain he will stick around, if he’s that concerned about learning as he seems to be, I think we just might see more of him, or, I do hope so at least.” She stated, her mind working.
Turning things around on her made the Mage laugh again. “Oh yes indeed, he was quite cute, perhaps there might be something there.” She laughed. “No Titus, that won’t work and you know it as well as I do, he’s simply not going to live long enough for me to even think about it.” She finished, returning his wink. “I do hope that at some point though, I will have the opportunity to meet this Queen of yours, as she does sound as though she truly is a good mind.” She then commented.
She thought about it for a few moments. “Perhaps you might be on to something there, he was indeed looking for a way to share the light within himself with others, maybe taking him on and allowing him to help with the library here would be a way to help him decide…” She trailed it off and then smiled. “I should think I would have to look him up again and find out what he thinks.” She then stated as her eyes narrowed at this thought, her mind working it over.
Sky’s smile widened again as he talked of the Queen, she liked to see Titus happy, it made her heart soar more so than he would probably imagine. “So, Kyrea is her name then.” She stated and smiled. “I’ve heard only scant little about this Queen and it seems what I have heard is quite true.” She stated still smiling as she watch Titus talk of her some more. “Sounds like the perfect study buddy for you,” She added truthfully with a serious smile this time.

“Only with you.” Titus replied with a grin to Sky’s rightful accusation of flirting. “I’ll help you sort through the mess of books and shelves if you do chose to move in.” He added with a smile. “It’ll give us time to catch up a little more.” The master mage did do his fair share of sorting through all the books in the tower. He couldn’t leave it to just Sky after all, and rearranging the furniture so to say, would give them something to do together for the first time in a long time. Titus actually hoped Sky would accept the offered room in the tower.
“That sounds a quite noble pursuit.” Titus said of the boy Sky had met in the tower. “Perhaps we should have him come around some more. We wouldn’t want a man with such bright promise to be stumbled in his path by the terrors that fill the world outside our white walls. He’s lucky you even liked the look of him.” Titus teased, though it was an honest fact.
“I’m sure you must have gotten work of her from the other mages though.” Titus stated about Kyrea. “I had the boys carry a desk up for her. I must say, I was quite amused, though they certainly weren’t”
Titus thought of a few things Sky had said and as he put them together he laughed. “I wouldn’t mind having you two pretty young things together in my room though, two study buddies would be a lot of fun.”

Sky continued to smile as she listened to him talk. She honestly loved Titus very much, eh was her only true friend she could count. Certainly in her time she knew quite a few people, but for someone like her to call another friend, was not a small thing. She was not the most trusting soul after all. “Oh don’t stop.” She grinned at him after his ‘Only with you.’ Comment. “Very well then, I think I have made my mind up I the matter, and I accept your offer.” She then stated with a bright smile, the thought of spending more time with him was perhaps the main reason for her decision as truly, she wished this perhaps as much as he had, if not more so. “See, one should always watch what they wish for, they just might be given the opportunity to prove they really wished it in the first place.” She then blew him a sweet kiss and smile to go along with it.
Sky grinned then over his words on Kyrea and the total table encounter. “Oh yes, I did hear about that.” She giggled slightly. “I would have loved to se the looks on their faces at the time, though their words later were as much grumble as I am certain they were with you up there on the 100th floor.” She winked at him. “Though they did say that the girl whom you were making them work so hard for was no help in their defense whatsoever and to this I must say, I had a good laugh.” She stated. “I told them that they should perhaps keep themselves busier then maybe they wouldn’t get called upon to do such menial tasks…” She grimaced slightly. “I don’t think they liked my answer quite so much either.” She then laughed.
Sky rose yet another brow his way at the comment of having the two girls up there within his own room. “Though I am quite certain I am not ready to share you as of yet, I think that my own room will do nicely.” She grinned at him in reply and tossed him another kiss.
“I think that I will go find Nereis later, perhaps tracking him down will give me something to do this evening, well, something productive at any rate.” She stated quite seriously then. “I think we do indeed have more to talk about than I had at first though.” She stated and then regarded Titus for a short time. “You truly are brilliant, you know.” She stated the fact and smiled sweetly at him.

Titus laughed about the mages recounting their tale to Sky about what he had made them do. “I think that was a wonderful answer.” He said, still laughing. “And I like your answer to me as well.” He added with a smile. He was truly happy that sky had accepted the ninety-ninth floor. It would have her closer to him on a regular basis and that was something Titus was sure he would enjoy.
“I know what I wished for and I got an angel in return.” Titus responded with a wink and a kiss blown back to her. “If I get what I wish for, maybe I’ll wish for another kiss.” He grinned then and leaned a little more over the counter so he was even closer to Sky.
“I’ll have the boys start moving shelves later today, and we can have at sorting all the books tomorrow if you like.” Titus said with a big smile. “Let me know when you’re ready to share.” He winked at her again.
Titus usually took his own intellect for granted. After all, what good would it do for him to dwell on his personal mental capacity? Since he never swelled his ego, Titus was flattered by someone of Sky’s intellect complimenting his brilliance. He didn’t say anything about it though, because he preferred not to beckon more ego stroking.

She smiled when he came closer, though did not relinquish the kiss to him just yet, she would make him wait for it, it was after all, hers to give when she found it to be the proper time.
“That sounds delightful.” She said in return to his having the guys move some books for them so as they could begin sorting through them. “I do believe those shelves are in need of a good dusting as well, I would think." She then winked at him as she reached out and touched his nose with her index finger, giving it a downward stroke and continued to smile.
“Well, if I am an angel, then heaven must be a lot different than I imagined it might be.” She jested at his angel comment to her, a bit of static playing across her dark orbs for a moment. “Though at times, I do believe I just might fit in nicely up there as well.” She added with another thought. “Of course, not for a great long time I would hope.” She put in and glanced upwards as if speaking to God himself.
His choice not to say anything about her brilliance comment was not over looked, nor was it ever overlooked when he would say nothing about his own brilliance, though he didn’t have to, it was a plain fact and that was that. Instead of pushing on the subject though, Sky turned her head to him and grinned, leaning in she planted another sweeter kiss this time on his lips and then brushed his cheek with her hand lightly. “Oh, I don’t know Titus, I am awfully greedy when it comes to you my dearest friend.” She told him and then stood up straight.
“I do believe I will hear some more stories about having to move heavy objects again.” She grinned and then feigned a sullen sigh. “Oh, my back is killing me, did he really have to make me do so much work?” She bent over and mocked the words she knew she’d hear later. “Oh, but it will be well worth it, when we are sorting and stacking later. Who knows, I might even find something else I can add to my gathering.” She smiled wistfully, thinking about the time that would be spent hanging with Titus and actually spending time with him above and beyond their little weekly visits.

Titus smiled and licked his lips after Sky granted him his wish. He quite liked the kiss she gave him, and was quite sure he would like to have some more like that. He laughed at how she mimicked the other mages. “I’m sure that’s quite like what they would say.” Titus responded. “They really should stay in better shape. They should take an example from you.” He added, as he looked Sky over across the counter.
“And oh no, you won’t be going to heaven any time soon.” Titus said about her earlier comment. “I’ll be keeping you forever.” He added with another wink at his old dear friend.
“When you find this Nereis fellow again, you should bring him back to the tower.” Titus started, thinking again about the young man who had spoken to Sky in the tower. “I should like to meet him.”
Titus smiled again as he returned again to moving Sky into the tower. “We’ll have a great time I’m sure, deciding what to leave on your floor and what to bring up there too.” He said merrily, happy to have a plan in place to spend more time with his old friend.

Had it been anyone else that looked her over like that, Sky probably would have just ignored it, but Titus wasn’t just any other person and she smiled broadly when he did, but said nothing to further the attention she was gaining and giving him today other than one word. “Indeed.” She stated and that was that concerning her body.
“Forever is a might long time friend, and I just may hold you to that one.” She returned however to his keeping her. “Of course, I can’t think of better hands to keep me for that long a time than yours.” She replied honestly. “Besides, that just means that you as well, will need to stay with me forever, and that’s just the way it will have to be.” She stated, giving him a sharp nod to seal her words.
Sky wondered about that statement, she always had, forever, what was forever to a people that lived forever should they wish it so? This was something that she thought on often actually but never thought about it too deeply, as that one word, vast in time, though what was time to her, to Titus? It was not but a drop in a bucket really as they did have all the time in the world, to do all the things they wished, but so little time as well. She shook her head to put that thought back in its vault again, it was just to much to think on when there was other things about that needed tending just now.
“I will bring him by, or invite him by.” She stated then as she nodded to Titus, inclining her head closing her eyes slowly and reopening them as her head rose again to right itself on her shoulders. “I am certain he would be more than happy to come.” She finished with a smile.
Sky then moved forward again and leaned on the counter, her right shoulder facing Titus as she looked out over the lawn at the Tower, her dark orbs looking up what heights she could from her position. “Yes, we will indeed.” She said quietly and with a soft smile once more drawing up the corners of her lips. “Ok, I’ll bring the ale if you bring the munchies, might as well make the best of this one.” She then stated, turning her head to smile over at him.

“Oh, I know better than anyone how long forever can be my dear and I would never take the term lightly.” Titus told Sky, still leaning on the counter himself as he smiled warmly at her. “After more than three millennia, I don’t see myself going anywhere fast darling, and I would hate to see you go.” The old master mage planted one more soft kiss on Sky’s lips, taking advantage of how close she was at the time and of the flirtatious nature of their conversation.
“Rearranging the ninety-ninth floor’s books and shelves will be quite fun I’m sure.” Titus said with a grin. “We’ll just have to get the boys moving the shelves for us, so we can content ourselves with the books. I’d rather they not make a mess of those anyways.” He chuckled a little then, finding at least a little humor in the organizational incompetence of the other mages. It truly was a wonder how any scholar could be so inept as the mages of his order. “Food and drink sounds like a delight my dear.” Titus added happily. “I look quite forward to the times I will be spending with you.”
“I look forward to seeing the boy then.” Titus said then. “Sounds like he will be one more newcomer to the tower who will lift my spirits by appreciating knowledge. I seem to be getting rather lucky lately.” He concluded then and winked at Sky.
