It was just after dawn when Zack woke from his normal type of sleep seeing things he had done in the past. He of course was no longer a part of that wicked blade. Dressing himself in his dark blue armor, he went and paryed at church when he finished he asked the priest there about anything odd so far the priest gave his normal awnser 'no'. Zack was and understanding indivisual. Yet because of his past sins he didn't want to be close to anyone.
He went to the park he just couldn't stand that the nightmares and memories were still there. Since he spent so mch time at church it was time for people to move around. Zack of course had his mind set on trying to find peace with his past yet all he could see in his mind was the sight of burning towns people needlessly killed and yet oddly he saw himself in their blood how he showed no remose.
He of course knew that the blade did it all. His new blade by his side he just couldn't see. What was it he was searching for? That awnser was simple inner peace. They way he could do that was to stop raised undead from getting to the city. Yet on his current path his sinning ways seemed to stay with him. when it was a normal person commiting crimes he made sure that they had justice. Yet he had to know just why is it he seemed to sin when it was his past that did all the sinning. People seemed to be passing him by they knew who he was the people were told everything about him and his unforgivable past. All Zack could do is just sit and wait. As was the daily custom. At least till something would happen.

Charlie and Sunny dashed about the vast plain in the early morning sun. She had woke up early this day so that she could stretch her horses legs and let him out for a good solid run, something she had neglected to do for him in a few days. She had been terribly busy between her studies and work, not to mention her perfectly wonderful night with Odin down by the docks, they now road at a leisurely walk towards the more populated parts of the park.
After a while, she slid off his back and walked beside him, putting one hand on his silken coat, the blue tint in his roan hide glistening as the sun hit it. She had always appreciated his color, and though knew that blue tint was the work of the suns rays hitting his otherwise gray speckled coat, she had always found it amazing. She loved her horse, her friend. As they walked Sunny would turn his head to eyes her form time to time, nuzzling her shoulder softly and then look around again.
Soon she came to the point in the park were she began to see some movement and something else, something glistening in the sun, a metallic form. She knew that form, or rather, knew of him, not ever introducing herself but today, she figured why not.
They walked slowly and almost lazily over to the Paladin and stopped a few feet away out of politeness. “Hi.” She greeted him

Zack walking toward the woman and her hourse when he was near them both he heard the woman speak. It may have been a simple hello but still he was still in deep thinking. He word did not mess up the thoughts he stopped and looked at the woman."Hello."Was at first his only word then he looked at her eyes and sighed mentally."nice day is it not?" He asked and looked around maybe somethign would happen after all he didn't want anyone to know his past.
Zack did not say anythign further it was up to the woman now if she left him after she awnsered he would understand. Zack had half his face hidden because the scars on his face. His body and half his face were so scarred he was considered the worst person in the land. All problems today came from his past. However until he meets someone who can hide his scars forever he would always hide himself.

“Yes indeed the weather is quite nice today.” Charlie returned in a friendly manner, though she wasn’t so sure this man wished to be spoken to.
She smiled at him though, at least she could do that, and it always seemed to help her when someone offered her a smile, when she wasn’t feeling so hot. She pattered Sunny on the neck then and started to turn away but then decided to stay a little bit longer, perhaps this man would open up and talk to her a bit, it was her day off and she was in such a good mood that she honestly felt like sharing some of it with someone, seeing as though that someone she wanted to spend it with she barely knew and so, wouldn’t even begin to know where to find him during the day.
“Are you from around here?” She asked then. “My name is Charlie, by the way.” She added, thinking perhaps she should at the least introduce herself.

"No I am not from around here. Just call me Zack though. Nice to meet you Charlie." Zack said he looked to the ground he just didn't want to look at her right now. She reminided him of a face from another place so long ago. His past, a hell no one else should know about. Zack knew this to be true if only he could be lost to the world's eyes. IF charlie knew his past then she would understand why he didn't say much.
He thought about saying something yet he didn't want to hint that his past would terrify even the bravest guard into running from him. Zack decided to try and talk for once. Yet what was he to ask. Even if he told her his past that would make him another sinner. His tale of the demon knight Rokai normally scared people to the point of screaming.

Charlie smiled still, her bright eyes showing their brilliance in the sun as it caught them, like shiny emeralds sitting in pools of white.
“Oh, well I am assuming, by the armor you are Paladin?” She asked, hoping she wasn’t keeping him, this man really seemed like he didn’t want to talk, but at the same time, needed to speak and so, Charlie stayed. Though hoped her usual friendly self wasn’t going to offend this man, she would certainly not want hat to happen.
“Have you met with the Priests at the church as of yet sir?” She then asked, now addressing him with what she knew to be the proper way. This was a paladin, and to address him in any other way would simply be wrong, almost blasphemy a treachery to the crown.
Her reason for asking that last question was his newness to the place; perhaps she had yet to seek it out. This was a great city after all and many a person gets lost on their way to their destination, swallowed up by the vastness of it or, lost in their own minds, on their path to become what they strive to be.

"Yes I am a paladin and I have already seen the priests today the church is quite easy to find for me. There is no need to say sir. I prefure to talk as we were before you added that."Zack said his mind stuck on what to talk about after all he only spoke with gaurds and priests as well as the other knights. Zack had no idea why but looking at Charlie was tough after al her face reminided him of someone in another city. Zack could sence his feelings from those days long past. Zack decided to talk about it yet make it seem like a tale.
"Have you ever heard the tale of the demon knight, Rokai?" Zack asked he knew that he was talkig about his past yet he knew with somethign like that no one could resist. Zack had to know if this would scare anyone away.

Charlie listened to eth man in front of her, listened to him tell her how he preferred to be addressed by his name rather than according to his title and a gentle smile pressed up the corners of her lips. Here was a Paladin, most noble of noblemen telling her, a simple nurse that she was an equal in as much as she could speak his name. It was unheard of, and yet, here he was. She was momentarily in awe of his kindness.
It didn’t take her long to recover though as he moved on to seem to want to regale a tale to hr and she was more than willing to listen and listen she would.
“No Zack, I have not heard of such a tale before.” Se told him, now leaning her head against Sunnys’ soft neck, placing a hand on his muzzle and stoking it softly for a moment.

Zack heard her reply of the fact the she never heard of a tale so Zack began to tell it.
Years ago there was a young lad a farmers son who wanted to become a knight more than anything in his life. He of course being a spirited youth didn't care who said no. The young lad turned to a teenager and with the help of his uncle who was a knight he was trained when his father found out the father hurt the young man and he rand away. By the time he stoped running he found himself in a cemetary. From dep within the graveyard he heard a voice and strong commanding voice calling his name. 'Rokai....Rokai.' The boy found a blade on it was flesh almost human-like and a gaint eye. The blade was cursed with the cold soul of a demon. The blade used it's unholy power to made large, unholy, golden armor around him. The boy's eyes were red as blood soon enough he was called by the blade 'Rokai the demon knight'. The blade controlled the boy into killing not only his family it forced him to kill everyone near the village. Knight from the nearby kingdoms were called in yet the all fell to the boy's blade.
Village and kingdom's began to burn when ever the boy entered at one point during a kingdom attack his visor shattered and he saw himself in blood no remorse for those fallen before him. Soon he realized this is not what he wanted and while ungaurded he was attacked and scared were left not only on the left side of his face but his whole body.
During his life till he was 22 he had no way to stop the blade till a priest who had a mysterious metal faced the man and the fought during which the blade weaked and soon lost it's grip on the man. Soon he was purified from the blade and the demon blade was sealed away. Some say it still trying to find a new person to control. Otheres say it was broken and buried around the world. Afterward the man was cleansed and given armor and a sword made of the odd metal.
Zack stopped and then removed his helmet and showed her the scars on his face."Yet only I know what happened to the blade. For the full name of the tale is Zack Rokai, the demon knight." Zack had finally admited it to someone. That his past full of sin and yet he felt a little better about it. Zack put his helm back on and sighed."I was only made a paladin because of the church. It's been a year since then."

Charlie listened to his tale, it was interesting enough and held within it darkness she’d heard from many a story over the campfires at night as a small girl. Sad too, the poor man she thought, what a terrible thing to have happen to someone.
At first, when he was removing his helm, she figured it was due to the heat and to be polite, But as she gazed upon him, she knew even before he spoke, that he was the man behind the story had to be as it all really did fit together quite nicely, or tragically even.
Being a nurse, she could imagine the pain this man must have gone through physically and to be standing before her now, was amazing in and of itself. She found nothing frightening about this man, nothing at all, it was sad is what it was, and such a short time ago as well. This man was in need of help, though not the kind of help Charlie could give him. He was depressed, this she could ascertain. So far as physically, well if he had been accepted as a paladin in the Kings Guard, then he must be in great health. Was unfortunate that he had to live with these scares, but sometimes life threw you obstacles to overcome, and at this point, he was at still trying to overcome his.
“Well then Zack, it would seem that what you need is a good strong drink.” She stated and then smiled. Charlie was always trying to make the best out of any situation. :and perhaps a friend? As I am certain you don’t have many if you are so new here.” S eh went on.
Good ole’ Charlie, she was always kind to others, unless they pissed her off, of course. And honestly, this guy did seem to need an ear to talk to and she wouldn’t mind listening if he didn’t mind talking.
“So, what do you say? I know a small out of the way place we could go for a drink and you can tell me more about yourself.” She stated with yet another of her warming smiles.

"Sorry I am not one much for drinking. However,if you ever want to talk you can find me at the church every early morning."Zack said as he looked at her noticing how she was looking at him. How he wished he never found that blade. Who knows maybe he would have been more talkative, and friendly. Yet he didn't care about what could have been. He was here and now.
"I am sorry it just my nature to be this way. If I could reverse time and not grab that sword I would be different. I am sorry but I must go. I have to keep an eye out for any un-dead since that was the task given to me since the necromancers came." Zack said and sighed."The guards will be expecting me. Well you have a good day." Zack said as he continued to the place he mentioned yet he may have sounded cold the way he spoke but it was the Truth the king didn't trust Zack and so he was being timed by the town guards.

“Well perhaps another time then.” She said to him with her usual soft tones. “And maybe I will even bring along some of my mothers lemonade, it always seems to pick me up in the mornings.” She offered a smile. “I do hope your day doesn’t find you many walking dead, would be a shame to have them lurking about when they should be left to rest where they were put.” She then told him. “Was nice meeting you Zack, farewell.” She then said as he began to walk away.
Charlie looked after him as he left and then with a small shake to her head and the thought of what had jus transpired she hopped onto her horse’s back, turned him around back towards the open field and with a whisper into his ear they were off and running through the fields once more.
